The track plan for Chelsey Street basically came about from what could be achieved in the limited baseboard space available whilst maintaining some degree of operational interest.
The track is all Peco Streamline bullhead to keep costs down and maximise siding lengths. The turnouts have been modified to enhance their appearance by cutting away most of the solid base around the tie bar, and filling in with pieces of Individulay timbers.
The wire links were removed from the closure rails to isolate them from the common crossing. New droppers were then added to allow connection with the DCC bus wires along with the stock rails. Each rail section has two droppers for redundancy.
